Following the workshops held in conjunction with RANLP-2005, RANLP-2007, RANLP-2009, RANLP-2011, RANLP-2013, RANLP-2015, RANLP-2017, RANLP-2019, RANLP-2021, RANLP-2023 and RANLP-2025, we are pleased to invite workshop proposals for RANLP-2027.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

RANLP-2027 welcomes proposals on any topic of interest to the NLP community, from fundamental research questions to applied, industrial or commercial work. We particularly encourage workshops that use or discuss the latest NLP methods, including Large Language Models and Generative AI. A workshop can last from half a day to the full two workshop days (9\u201310 September 2027), and can include demo sessions and shared tasks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Workshop Format and Onsite Presence<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Organisers decide whether their workshop runs face-to-face or hybrid. In either case, the sessions must be held onsite in Varna for the full duration of the workshop, so that other RANLP participants can attend. At least one organiser must be present in Varna<\/strong> to run the workshop and chair the onsite sessions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Registration and Funding<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each accepted workshop receives one free full registration<\/strong> to RANLP-2027. It covers the summer school, tutorials, main conference, all workshops, the reception and the conference dinner. Organisers may use this registration however they choose, for example for one of the organisers or for an invited speaker.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Any further organisers and invited speakers must register and pay the standard fee. The RANLP-2027 Organising Committee cannot provide any other financial support. If organisers plan to invite speakers beyond the one covered by the free registration, they must secure their own funding (for example, a grant or sponsorship) to cover those costs. Where possible, we recommend inviting a speaker from among the main conference keynote speakers or participants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Workshop Venue<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The workshops will take place at Hotel \u2018Cherno More\u2019, the main RANLP-2027 venue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Proposal Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Proposals must be prepared using the RANLP-2027 workshop proposal template<\/strong>, available on Overleaf: https:\/\/www.overleaf.com\/read\/myrdzwhjxmkr#a27fbf<\/a>. They should be no longer than five pages (including information about the organisers, the programme committee and references) and must include the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Title, acronym, and a short technical description of the workshop, including its goals and the technical issues it will address.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Proposed duration (half day, one day, or two days) and format (face-to-face or hybrid). Name the organiser(s) who will be present in Varna.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. A short description of the target audience, with estimated numbers of submissions and attendees. A tentative list of potential contributors would be helpful.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. If the workshop has run before: the number of previous editions, where they were held, and the number of submissions and accepted papers in the most recent edition.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. A list of related workshops or events held in the last three years or planned for 2027.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  6. Planned invited speakers, if any, stating which have agreed and which are tentative, and how any speakers beyond the free registration will be funded.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  7. A description of any associated shared task, with an estimated number of participants (optional).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  8. The reviewing platform<\/strong> the workshop will use, for example START, OpenReview, or acceptance of ACL Rolling Review (ARR) papers. Workshops that request it will be given a START submission portal by the RANLP-2027 organisers.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  9. A tentative programme committee.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  10. Names and contact details (web page and email address) of the proposed organising committee.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  11. A description of the organisers\u2019 experience in the workshop topic and in organising workshops or related events.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
